Necklace Size Chart

Every Marina necklace is handcrafted in 925 sterling silver, and comes in the lengths below. Here's how to find the one that sits exactly where you want it.

How to Find Your Necklace Length

Option 1: Measure a necklace you already own
Lay a necklace that sits well on you flat on a table and measure it end to end, including the clasp, in inches.

Option 2: Measure your neck
Wrap a soft tape measure loosely around the base of your neck, where you'd like the necklace to sit. Add 2 inches for a comfortable, close fit, or 4 or more inches if you want it to hang lower and drape over clothing.

Option 3: Not sure, or buying as a gift?
16" or 18" is the safest length for a gift, since it suits nearly any neck size and looks right with almost any neckline.

Necklace Length Chart

Length Style Where It Falls Best For
16" Choker Right at the base of the neck Off-shoulder tops, boat necks, or as the shortest piece in a layered look
18" Princess At or just below the collarbone Our most popular length, works with almost any neckline
22" Matinee Between the collarbone and bust Lower or open necklines, or a pendant you want sitting a bit lower
24" Matinee (long) Just above the bust Layering under a shorter piece, or worn alone over higher necklines

A few tips for an accurate fit

  • The quoted length always includes the clasp, so measure loosely, not pulled tight
  • A pendant hangs below the chain length, so factor in the drop when picking a length
  • Petite frames wear each length a little shorter than the chart suggests; taller frames, a little longer
  • Building a small layering set? A 16", 18", and 22" work well stacked together without tangling
